BEVA Practical Equine Surgery
KEY LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
- Learn to recognise the need for the equipment, facilities and personal required to perform a variety of different operative surgical procedures in horses and make decisions about surgery standing versus surgery under general anaesthesia
- Learn to make a surgical plan for commonly performed equine procedures, including troubleshooting and dealing with complications
- Gain knowledge of approaching the sinonasal region surgically and interpret diagnostic tests appropriate to the region
- Refresh knowledge on planning and carrying out major wound reconstruction, skin grafting techniques, treat cutaneous neoplasia and undertake common ocular surgery
- Gain knowledge on planning and carrying out a variety of orthopaedic procedures
