AOVET Course—Principles in Small Animal Fracture Management

This course will provide participants with an understanding of bone healing and how it can be favourably influenced through internal fixation of fractures.

Participants will leave the course with the information and experience necessary to apply these techniques to commonly encountered fractures. Content includes:

• Current information in the principles of fracture fixation
• Lectures delivered by an internationally renowned faculty
• Hands-on workshops involving the use of plates, screws, intramedullary nails and orthopaedic wires
• Small group discussion sessions
• Critical success techniques such as soft tissue handling
• Dealing with problems and complications

Participant criteria
The course is aimed at any veterinarian with an interest in orthopaedic surgery and is recommended for surgical interns and residents in training.
