AOVET Course—Advanced Techniques in Equine Fracture Management

The participants of the Advanced Techniques in Equine Fracture Management Course will be informed on:

• the diagnosis and management of the major long bone fractures,
• the use of the different plates and internal fixators (LCP etc.),
• the diagnosis and management of physeal and metaphyseal fractures,
• the use of interlocking nails in upper long bone fracture treatment,
• the management of open fractures,
• the benefit and feasibility of arthrodeses of selected joints, the use of computer assisted surgery,
• discussion on the “do’s and don’t’s” in the surgery suite, and
• competitions and drawing for valuable prizes.

Group case discussion and hands-on practical exercises will deepen the learning experience.
